Frank Gehry Poster and Book

Frank Gehry was the architect I chose to be the theme for these projects. He is a Canadian born American and Jewish architect and sculptor. Frank's buildings resemble undulating free-form sculptures with bold unusual shapes, fabrications, and asymmetrical protrusions that fit his postmodern and deconstructivism style. I chose this architect because of his fun style and desaturated color scheme that he uses in order to highlight the wavy and curvy effects he gives his buildings. The structure of each building is unique in its own way which inspired me to create a poster and book based on his style.

Each page shows Frank’s sketch of the building and the outcome

The "Power Station" page has a holographic film that reflects different colors based on the lighting in the room. I used this film because the actual building is made of white aluminum and reflects color from the sun.

"Dancing Houses" has a quilling effect that highlights the curves of the building while giving it a 3D effect to engage the reader.

"Squashed Paper Bag" has 3D windows that can be opened and has information inside. The windows are closely related to those on the building itself.
