Photography Series

This project is a series of pictures related to social media and the impact it has on us now a days. This series shows how we heavily rely on technology in order to communicate with one another. We even created our own slang and abbreviations through text rather than using full sentences. Additionally, the picture takes place at nighttime to represent how we even lose sleep because we're so hooked on the technology that is available to us.

Sleepmode: When we sleep, we always have our devices close to us. It is either under our pillow or by our bed, but we never want it to leave our side. It is like an addiction.

Putting up a front: Have you ever wondered if people put up a front for social media? The image within an image composition shows how we make ourselves appear through social media in order to get the most likes, the most followers, the most comments. It is a competition everyone has against each other but usually what people post on the media is not all real. I tried to show that in this composition by depicting how people use filters and cake their makeup in order to get likes and recognition on platforms but behind the screen their skin isn’t perfect, their hair isn’t that shiny, this is the sort of impact social media has on us.
